May 2017 Frugal Momster Expense Report: I bought a boat!

May was a month for writing checks, especially when it came to leisurely activities or having some outdoor work done around our house. We won’t recap the work that’ll be happening outdoors in June until after it’s complete. So, our expense report won’t reflect those expenditures until they actually cash those checks (or even request them).

Rucking a Muck

I’ve been overweight for quite some time now, almost two years since I gave birth to Crab. Since his birth in August 2015, I’ve dropped 40lbs, but I had hoped to be closer to my normal last summer. Alas, I’ve missed the boat on reaching that goal, nor the one during the winter, or spring, but I still have plans to get back to normal within the 2017 calendar year.

Once Upon a Time I was a Runner

I remember it fondly. I used to go out for runs in peace and quiet. Listen to podcasts and feel accomplished. Then something changed. I followed the elimination diet, I felt so much better, and I no longer felt motivated to run to feel better. I already felt better without all the hard work of running. Though, the elimination diet was a different kind of hard work.

A Gluten for Punishment

On Friday, I decided to make homemade pizza just as I used to before going on the elimination diet. I knew gluten bothered me, but while I am absolutely adamant about not eating eggs again anytime soon (nor baking with them), I just wanted to try gluten and wheat one.more.time.

The pizza was probably the best I’ve made in as far as I can remember. The dough came out perfect, the most amazing rise and flavor. The sauce was another homemade entity that was flavorful and delicious. The topping was just your basic mozzarella with seasonings. It was glorious and I savored every bite. The family enjoyed it, except for Crab. He never seems to like pizza much.
