Daily Goodie Box Review
In the past month, I signed up to receive a Daily Goodie Box. They send you free samples of a variety of items to taste or try and share your honest feedback. I was given the items for free, but my opinion has not been guided by the Daily Goodie Box company at all.
When you sign-up, they list items that will be on their way to you. I didn’t have time to look at them first, so I was happily surprised by the very full box I received. See the video above for the unboxing. It was packaged very nicely, and I was excited to try such a variety of items from food to lotions to drink mixes.
On to the review…
The RawRev Glo Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar was delicious as far as protein bars go. Chris even enjoyed a bite of it and said he liked it, which is highly unusual for him to try protein bars and say something nice about them.
I was happy to see that the ingredients avoided the use of whey, which affects my eczema, and instead they use hemp and brown rice protein. This is definitely a bar I would consider purchasing in the future, as the Quest nutrition bars while highly rated include whey protein which I’ve found I cannot tolerate well. They sell for around $1.50 at Wegmans.
I had high hopes for these nacho chips since they were made from beans and rice! After tasting, Chris said he liked them, but I felt like they tasted very processed similar to a pop chip with flavor powder.
I would love to try a chip without any flavoring and maybe a little salt, which I see they offer as another product. I would definitely consider picking up a bag of the unsalted or black bean sea salted flavors.
I was wary of taking something that would mess with my sleep, as I am very protective over my sleeping habits. With a long weekend, I had the dream water when I knew it wouldn’t matter for the next day as much if it caused me to sleep less or more. I didn’t notice a huge difference, but I do think I slept pretty well after drinking it.
I mixed it with water and it had a really nice flavor. Something like this I’d have to try a few times to see if there is a real effect, otherwise, I slept much like I do most nights though I felt sleepier sooner. I don’t think I woke up to think about much that evening, so that may have well been supported via the Dream Water.
Mixed with a cup of water, the flavor of this energy drink was pretty good. It tasted a bit medicinal and didn’t mix super well in water like other energy drinks I’ve used before. Typically, I avoid caffeine drinks, but since this was a free sample for my honest review I tried 2 of the 3 packets on two separate days.
They did give me a energy boost and I drank one before an easy 4.5 mile run. I would say it performed just as well as any other energy style drink powder. The dragon fruit flavor was tasty.
The ingredients in this cream look to be useful for removing itchiness or other issues related to skin irritation. I am hesitant to use much on my skin as I am battling eczema this winter, yet again, but I tried a small amount and liked how it felt.
I would love to see if there was a type of product for a child to use, as Crab gets eczema on his legs and something like this might benefit him. Not something I will head out to purchase, but glad to have it in my go-to bin for an option if more flare ups or irritations need something new to help.
I opened this first, as my whole family loves to eat popcorn! Immediately, I could tell it was a healthier version of popcorn. It tasted very light and airy with little flavor or salt whatsoever. That is fine for me, as I love to make plain popcorn and dress it up with seasonings or my own butter.
The popped kernels were rather tiny, but the color and taste were good. The kids didn’t much prefer it, but they usually like a lot more butter or flavor on their popcorn. I’d be interested to try their kettle corn if I am able to find it in a store near me.
This bar had good flavor, as I tried the Coconut Crave version. It was a bit hard to chew and stiffer than other bars, but overall a decent flavor and offering in a small package. I didn’t much like that they used whey protein as their choice of protein and would recommend they look into brown rice or pea protein.
I see on their site these bars are paleo friendly, so that would be a plus if you need a snack on the go and abide by that diet. I love the addition of chia seeds which most bars don’t use, and overall I would consider it another time if they removed the whey.
Overall, this was a good experience. I was able to try a bunch of products I normally wouldn’t have heard of or tried on my own. I also was able to find new products that I would consider purchasing in the future based on their ingredients, and others I would pass on.
Hope this helps you find some new products to check out and enjoy!
