6 Podcasts I’m Loving Right Now

There is just something warm and fuzzy about a podcast that you can’t always get when reading words on a page or watching a show on television. Though, I wasn’t always a spoken word fan.

For years, while Chris and I were dating, he always wanted to listen to talk or sports radio. I just couldn’t get into it. It was hard for me to listen and involve myself in something without a visual component. I also had difficulty listening to audiobooks. I’d tend to fall asleep and wake up confused as to what happened in the story. Then, a few years ago, I discovered podcasts.

Staying Positive Admist Challenges

Hmm… It’s been a rough week… month… year?

I’ve been toying with the idea of posting daily again, as it’s been difficult to create quality content on a regular basis and I’ve felt pretty choked up when it comes to writing. With over 10-15 draft posts sitting, waiting to be shared I feel nervous every time I click “publish.” I remember the days fondly when I posted on a daily basis and just let whatever happened… happen. It was interesting, and I felt more connected with you. I could just be “me” without any other super high hopes.

I’m back in it and Week 5 of half marathon training

My new Altra Torin 2.5 and Under Armor tights. Aren’t they pretty?

I’m back into the swing of things and just in time to get ahead of my half marathon training plan.

This weekend I introduced a new pair of Altra Torin 2.5 running shoes to my lineup.

I previously ran in Brooks PureFlow 2s for the past four years. I owned two pairs that I rotated. I know, a bit old and worn out.

Last fall, I purchased the Brooks Glycerin 13 post-partum. They were great coming back after pregnancy, but now they are a bit too cumbersome and clunky for my desires. I always feel pushed to get cushioned shoes after pregnancy, as I always end up far too bulky and uncomfortable as I add running back in.

This fall, I looked at the Brooks line and tried many a pair I returned to Zappos. They were all far more narrow than previous versions. I was highly disappointed and with this new longer distance plan I needed to find at least one new pair soon.

So, I started a search for a different zero-drop cushioned shoe. Continue reading…

November 2016 Frugal Momster Expense Report

November was a rather filled month for us, but we managed to get the house decorated the weekend of Thanksgiving and start to get into the holiday spirit. Chris did a great job working on the decorations, he did the entire outside (plus more that isn’t in this photo he added the next day) and he did the Christmas tree with Monkey, too!

I’m not a failure despite failing at many things: Week 4 of marathon errr half marathon training

Before I get into my training from last week, here’s a few accomplishments I’ve had over the Thanksgiving weekend.

I completed my baby guy’s crochet animal hats, plus several more for gifts. The Monkey now has his special sock monkey hat!

The Crab has a fun little monster. I hope to eventually find a crab pattern I like and will whip him up a crab hat in the future!
